Maan virallinen pääkaupunki on Amsterdam. Haagissa asuu 519 988 ihmistä (1.1.2016), koko suurkaupunkialueella noin 700 000. Se on maan kolmanneksi suurin kaupunki Amsterdamin ja Rotterdamin jälkeen.
